Public Education- What's Happening

We offer free educational programs on gardening topics for the public several times a year. We also have speakers available to speak to organizations in the community on various topics.

Don’t Give Up Growing Orchids:
Orchids call to us. Their flowers are vibrant, intricate, with almost unreal perfection. Unrivaled in the plant world, Orchids have a reputation for being finicky because they have a specialized set of growing requirements, and when you treat them like ordinary houseplants, they die. But there is hope. Orchids aren’t hard to grow, they are just different.

Sandy R. is a Certified Texas Master Gardener, and an orchid expert. Sandy explained how to grow these beautiful plants.

The event was free and open to the public.  The Gonzales Master Gardeners shared coffee, tea, cookies, and knowledge at the PACE building Thursday, Jan 19.
